The Hampton Inn & Suites St. Paul/Oakdale generally receives positive reviews, praised for cleanliness, friendly staff, and convenient location near restaurants and shopping. However, some guests have experienced issues with room odors, outdated amenities, and inconsistent breakfast quality. Recent reviews indicate improvement in overall cleanliness and customer service.
I generally HATE hotels! This is one of the best that I have ever stayed at! The night desk lady was Very sweet and helpful (and I was a grump!!) I noticed immediately the cleanliness of the entrance and hallway. The hallways were wide, clean and well lit. We opened the door and the lights were on and the room smelled so fresh! I took off my shoes (something I seldom do in hotels) and the floor felt so clean and the carpet felt new. The bathroom was clean, the a/c worked well and did not smell like a swamp cooler. The pillows were perfect! The acoustic material in the hallway muffled any noise. I got great sleep! The breakfast was clean and inviting. Plenty of room to get your food without being in the way of everyone else! We are heading home from here, but plan to come back. I will want to stay here.
The only reason I can’t give 5 stars is for a few minor things. Overall, this hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly. However, the shower head sucks. Sprayed everywhere but where it was supposed to. The mini fridge has no adjustment and froze my drinks inside. Lastly, breakfast was super greasy and there was no cream cheese for the old bagels. Plenty of restaurants around near by, location seems safe in a nicer area. My peeves can be overlooked due to how clean the rooms and linens were. I’d stay here again.
Great hotel. our first room smelled very strong and funky for 3 days, so we switched to another room (this one also smelled musty for few days). The staff were very nice I can't blame them, they greet us ever time we come in. The rooms were clean. (tips for germophobes, don't look closely, there will be suspicious stains). I believe both our rooms we stayed had "mold" in their fridge, I saw black spot in the nooks and crannies of the fridge ladders, plus our food got mold very quickly. The TV ? We can't stream our own program, very old tv xd . Breakfast was great and changed everyday, pool was nice too just a bit cold.
My husband and I unexpectedly ended up in St. Paul after a medical emergency and showed up at this hotel at 3:00 AM with no reservation hoping to get a room. The gentleman at the front desk overnight last night was so incredibly kind to my husband and very helpful. We were able to get a room last minute with no issue. Phenomenal customer service. The hotel was very clean and quiet too.
Could’ve easily been a 5-star experience until the hotel flat out refused to answer our calls to the front desk when someone started blasting music, shouting, and slamming doors at 3am. We tried calling with the hotel phone and our personal phones and it was as though no one was working. Very safe. Not. Will not return, will tell everyone I know to never stay here. Don’t let the reviews they’ve clearly bought fool you.
This hotel was very nice and clean. Room smelled fresh when walked in the door. Breakfast was great. Friendly staff! Close to the highway. Shopping area and restaurants close by.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn Oakdale/Woodbury with our family and had a great experience. The breakfast was good with plenty of options, and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Parking was easy, which made everything convenient. The front desk staff was very helpful—Amy was especially welcoming and such a sweet lady. She really went above and beyond to make sure we felt taken care of. Overall, a pleasant and family-friendly stay. We would definitely stay here again.
Great experience, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were clean and updated, and they were very accommodating for our larger group and made sure our bus had room in the lot. Great location with lots to do but tucked away a bit from the traffic. We travel to this area a lot and this will be our go to location.
I went there for Christmas. We spent 4 days there. The service was good, the rooms were nice. But I left some clothes there and didn't realize it till I got home. Well I hope the staff is enjoying my mom's clothes and her wool jacket. I am very disappointed that I didn't get that back. Therefore I will never go back there and I will never say a nice thing about that place. Hampton inn you can suck it!!
Don't let the good reviews fool you! Location was why we chose this place for my in laws - right off the highway and easy for them to find. Only to find rooms smelling like smoke and weed when it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. They asked to switch rooms and the next room smelled just as equally bad. They couldn't stand it and left. Disappointed as we thought Hamptons was a trustworthy hotel name, guess we'll have to reconsider next time.
