The Radisson St. Paul Downtown receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising the friendly staff, convenient location, and comfortable rooms. However, significant concerns regarding cleanliness, outdated facilities, and inconsistent service have been repeatedly reported. Recent positive feedback highlights attentive staff and a pleasant stay, while negative experiences cite issues with room conditions, noise, and a lack of responsiveness from hotel staff.
In town for a concert. (Jayme)? At the front counter was awesome! Very friendly, knowledgeable and a true asset for this hotel. Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Shuttle driver was personable and helpful. Will stay here again if in the area.
My friend and I booked this hotel because it was reserved for a wedding we were attending. Check in was fine; however, the issues started immediately when we got to our room. The room was dirty. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned after the last guest checked out. I pulled the bedding back and found multiple strands of hair that were folded in between the sheet and comforter. They were clearly visible. There were black stains on our pillow cases as well. We went downstairs to ask if the room could be cleaned and were told that no one would be able to clean it. It was suggested by a woman working there that we could remake our own beds. I couldn't believe she actually said that. We asked to be moved to a different room and were met with a slight attitude. The woman said we would move down to the third floor because it had just been deep cleaned. Clearly our original room had not been cleaned at all so I was hopeful. The new room was okay (I can say it was much cleaner than the old one) but it still wasn't the greatest. The whole hotel is in desperate need of updating and staff need to be trained how to professionally clean the rooms. The woman who moved us could have had some better customer service training as well. She made comments about how she wasn't going to clean the room since she was off the clock. She seemed annoyed by our request and unwilling to do anything other than the bare minimum. Overall, I would not return to this hotel. The experience was terrible and the price I paid was crazy for the service received. There were two people at the hotel who were amazing and they deserve a shout out. First, the shuttle driver, Sean I believe, was incredible! So nice and personable. He was a bright spot in the terrible day. The other person was his wife who was working the front desk at checkout. She was aware of our situation and tried her best to make sure we knew how sorry she was. She was funny and very kind.
The lady at the front desk with dark hair and I cant remember pink or red streaks super friendly. She was very helpful and nice. The rooms were nice and clean. Breakfast though is definitely lacking. The French toast sticks were very soggy and luke warm. The sausage looks really gross and old. Looked burnt and just icky. Wasn't much for variety. Shaun the shuttle driver was the best part of our trip. He dropped us off and picked us up from the grand casino. He was so chatty and lively. A breath of fresh air in saint paul.
Don’t believe any negative reviews. This was our first time visiting St. Paul visiting from Toronto to watch the world junior hockey tournament and booked this hotel 2 hours before arriving on Priceline and got an amazing rate. Front desk staff upon arrival was top notch, informative and helpful. Our room was perfect. Almost seemed like a recent makeover. Clean, beds soft and nice Samsung TV. Bathroom was tiny but manageable. Shuttle back and forth to the arena was quick and convenient. Friendly driver! Cafe and continental breakfast was superb! Clean and plenty of choices. My boys even arrived late for breakfast and the young lady running the cafe accommodated them past closing with a smile. I would definitely recommend and stay again at this hotel. Great job staff!!!
There were no towels in the pool room. We were given shower towels as an alternative. When the attendant came to gather dirty towels, she left behind most of the soiled towels that were laying in puddles on the floor. The hot tub was not functioning and by its appearance must have been out for some time. Alternatively, we decided to swim in the pool which was not very heated and the sides of the pool had so much algae on them that people have carved their initials into the algae. The rooms aren't too bad and the location is fantastic, but if you'd like to relax in the pool room, this is not a good choice.
Very clean hotel. Staff was absolutely AMAZING and very accommodating to our entire wedding party. They truly went above and beyond the ordinary. Breakfast was hearty and they stayed open late for us. The bar in the lobby was a great spot to gather and they were flexible as well.
John (JP) who works at the front desk is the most AMAZING person that I have met in all my years in customer service! I had called on the phone the week before with questions and said that he would be working when I was going to be there. John (JP) remembered who I was and greeted me by name as I walked up and went above and beyond to help me. Radisson is lucky to have such a great employee like John (JP) who is friendly, caring, engaging and just a wonderful employee who you can tell loves his jobs and loves customers. John (JP) is the very best!!
Rooms are updated but clearly an older building. Access needed for parking which is nice. Beds are decent but could use more pillows. Would be nice if the pub opened earlier than 5pm. Overall a nice place.
I had a perfectly fine experience staying at the Radisson but it was obvious that the place has seen better days. Its location was good but not great. Interiors were nice but not fancy. The highlight was the staff who were very profession and helpful. Theybwere perfect examples of "Minnesota Nice"! The hotel is within walking distance of Minnesota state offices which was a plus for me but a slightly longer walk to the best restaurants. Overall a good, inexpensive place to stay if you have business downtown. 3 of 5 stars.
This place is the best; the front desk folks are literally the nicest humans I have ever met. They are extremely accommodating and seem to legitimacy enjoy their jobs! Rooms were comfortable and clean. Continental breakfast was standard, no issues. There isn't much around in the area but thats not the hotels fault! I would definitely stay here again.
