The SpringHill Suites by Marriott St. Paul Downtown consistently receives positive feedback, primarily due to its friendly and accommodating staff, clean and well-maintained rooms, and convenient downtown location. While some guests appreciate the included breakfast and secure parking, concerns regarding inconsistent service and cleanliness have been raised.
I stay here while on work trips. The staff is so friendly and efficient, the rooms are clean, I feel safe, the free breakfast is great, and the hotel management is accommodating to any last minute changes. Highly recommend!
I just want to acknowledge and recognize Kristy at the reception desk of the Springhill Suites by Marriott St. Paul Downtown for her impeccable service during our stay this past weekend for my sibling’s graduation! Kristy went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay and was more than accommodating for me and my family who traveled from all over. As an Ambassador Elite member I felt especially taken care of, and this was some of the best service I experienced from check-in to check out. I just wanted to sing her praises and give Kristy her flowers for making our stay there so great. Overall the hotel met our needs as it was in a great area, the rooms were spacious, and the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch. If I ever return to St. Paul, you all will be top on my list.
This is by far one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The staff was absolutely amazing. Mr. Tim was amazing. Check in was professional, but fast and friendly. Very safe. Very clean. And seems WELL maintained. (I work in construction so I spot crappy work.)
We stayed at this hotel for a New Orleans Saints game, and it was the perfect choice! Everything we needed was within easy walking distance, and the area felt very safe. I especially appreciated the secure parking garage access via a call button at the hotel entrance. Even in bad weather, you can stay completely protected while unloading your vehicle—no getting soaked or battling the elements. The parking area itself felt safe, clean, and well-maintained. The hotel is beautifully kept—spotless, modern, and new-feeling throughout. The dining/breakfast area is thoughtfully laid out so you never feel crowded, even when it’s busy. The pool is excellent for both little ones and older kids, offering a nice variety of space and depth. (Note: there is no hot tub.) The fitness room is well-equipped and perfectly adequate for a quick workout. Highly recommend for anyone visiting for events or just exploring the area!
My wife and I and 2 young kids got a room to see a show here in town and have family we were going to visit while in town. Roits broke out and 2 people died the weeks before we were going staying here. Our show got canceled and we didnt feel safe bringing to young kids with roits increasing. I called and exsplain my concerns to a nice lady who talked to the manager and said they understand but i booked it through a 3rd party and they need to be contacted it was not up to the hotel. I thanked them for there help and did what they told me. The 3rd party looked into it and got back to me telling me the hotel manager denied the cancelation and they could not refund my money. Nice bait and switch from this crooked hotel in this screwed up state. If the show which was close to the hotel was canceled due to safety reasons why would we bring our young kids into this situation this roit was not my fault and the hotel manager is a liar. Ill never stay at this hotel ill bring my money else where.
I recently stayed at the Springhill Suites in downtown St. Paul and cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel! The rooms are beautifully appointed and immaculately maintained, providing the perfect comfortable retreat after exploring the city. What truly sets this property apart, however, is the exceptional front desk staff. Ashley in particular went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. When my family missed breakfast one morning, she stepped in to help us out with such genuine warmth and care. It’s these small gestures that transform a good hotel stay into an outstanding one, and Ashley exemplified this perfectly throughout our visit. The entire team at the front desk demonstrated the same level of attentiveness and hospitality, making us feel truly welcomed from check-in to checkout. If you’re looking for a fantastic downtown St. Paul hotel with spotless accommodations and staff who genuinely care about their guests, look no further than Springhill Suites. We’ll absolutely be returning on our next trip to the Twin Cities. Thank you, Ashley, and the entire Springhill Suites team for making our stay so special!????????????????
I dont usually stay at Marriott hotels but I will if I need a good location. This hotel was was a pleasant surprise, staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was excellent and the downstairs atmosphere was inviting, I wanted to sit and relax or connect with people, very unusual. The one thing that would have given 10 out if 10 was the free coffee downstairs in the afternoon was not hot, I had to warm it up in a microwave, I know nitpicking.
I absolutely love all Marriott properties and have been a loyal member for over 8 years. I recently booked a room for (2) people at this location and when trying to add my partners name to the reservation they denied it stating that “if this person had your same last name we could add them”. I attempted to add it through the messaging on the Bonvoy app and it was denied also. This is an absolute first for me. When attempting to talk to management, they gave me a number to call that didn’t work. When I asked if this was a new policy, the staff member at the desk stated it was this branch’s policy only. I am hoping someone from management reaches out and makes this right or clarifies an actual policy that prevents non-married people from sharing a room and this wasn’t discrimination.
I’m about to check out after 5 days here on a business trip. We travel to St Paul for a week every couple months and have stayed at another Marriott hotel downtown in the past. That hotel is fine but the staff, which was a strength, had been getting less friendly and service minded so I decided to try this hotel. I was not disappointed. The biggest “issue” with this property isn’t something they can control which is road construction in the downtown area. Other than a comfortable room and facilities the best thing for me was Jimmy. He was/is the front desk staff with a silly sense of humor but no nonsense about making sure we were taken care of. Nice place to stay and we’ll return for sure. UPDATE: Like I said before we travel to this area every couple months and we just finished our stay at this property again. Don't hesitate to stay here. I'll gladly stick by my original review and say that Jimmy (Timmy) was fantastic, but another thing I liked in this stay was I saw the same staff as our previous visit. It says something about a property if they're able to keep a core of great employees. We'll be back.....gladly.
Love the set up of the garage and lobby feels safe and efficient. Drive into the secure garage, stop at the lobby entrance to check in, then drive up to next floor, park near elevator and use key card to get to your floor. Nice when a woman traveling alone. I usually bring my dog and there’s a small park nearby to walk her. Not much close by except a liquor store. While downtown, it’s closer to the freeway. Staff are always friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious.
