The Historic District Bed and Breakfast is a highly-rated, charming property in a walkable, historic neighborhood of St. Paul. Guests consistently praise the warm hospitality of the owner, Kevin, and the delicious, personalized breakfast offerings. The property offers a blend of historic character and modern comfort, making it a delightful stay.
Five stars and then some! This is a beautifully maintained historic home in a quiet neighborhood. Our room was well appointed, comfortable, and clean. Kevin is the most gracious and welcoming host! He cooked delicious custom breakfasts for us each morning and was so much fun to talk to. What a great location for access to the city. We were only 15 minutes from The Armory so we could go to a concert and get back home at a decent hour. Absolutely lovely place and will be back! Thank you Kevin!!
The Historic District Bed and Breakfast house is certainly grand and "historic" in presentation (if you listen carefully enough you might hear ghosts in the hall). It's very comfortable, even spacious, clean, well-tended, and quiet. Host Kevin is a wonderful guy, cheerful, friendly, accommodating, and, best of all, a superb breakfast chef! He'll make you anything you want; but we recommend staying with his menu offerings (and starter muffins), with which you can begin your day in comforting well-fed fashion. As B&B/s go, we couldn't imagine a more welcoming host than the multi-talented Kevin.
If I could rate this b&b 6 stars I would! Kevin is amazing and such a great host. The breakfasts were incredible and the room was very cute! Lots of character and charm with a very nice modern bathroom and shower. We walked home from the Xcel arena and it felt very safe so I’d consider it a walkable area for sure. Will definitely be returning next time we are in St. Paul!
We were very impressed with the friendly service, clear communications, and fantastic home. This is a beautiful old home in a very nice area of St. Paul, MN. The neighborhood is really safe with lots of historic homes and a few historic apartment buildings. Kevin at HDBB was fantastic, with really clear communications by email and text before our visit. He even gave us some great airport food when he learned we were leaving too early for the HDBB breakfast.
We stayed here on a weekend getaway for our 10th wedding anniversary and were absolutely blown away. Sometimes when I see a full 5 star rating with hundreds of reviews on Google I hesitate. Historic District BnB fully deserves it. The accomodations were fantastic. We stayed in the F. Scott Fitzgerald room. Personal touches like the "happy anniversary" sign on the chalkboard with our names showed that Kevin the owner cares and puts thought into everything he does. That level of care and attention to detail extends to the breakfast. My wife has some dietary restrictions that can make it hard to find options. Kevin gave us multiple options to choose from to perfectly fit within those restrictions and exceeded all expectations. The pancakes and muffins were some of the best we've ever had, and we couldn't believe they were gluten free. If you're considering staying here, give it a shot. You will not be disappointed.
This B&B is a gem. The house has beautiful original woodwork, and is in a great neighborhood with shops & restaurants nearby. The best part is the breakfast by Chef Kevin - truly worth the stay. One of the best B&B’s we’ve ever stayed at.
As a fellow bed and breakfast owner, I can’t help but admire what you’ve created at Historic District Bed & Breakfast. Your beautifully preserved 1896 home, complete with original charm and modern comfort, is a true urban retreat. And the chef-crafted hot breakfast? Simply delightful. A perfect stay in the heart of St. Paul.
Well located, well maintained historic house in a quiet neighborhood. Room was well appointed, comfortable, and clean. Host Kevin was gracious, welcoming and cooked a delicious, fresh, custom breakfast each morning. Lots of space in the common area with several rooms, including a well-stocked "game" room. Absolutely lovely place!
The Historic District Bed and Breakfast was everything that my wife and I had hoped it would be. The house was beautiful, the room was comfortable and private. We loved the character of the home, very inviting and in such a beautiful and historic neighborhood in St. Paul. We were able to walk around the historic district and the beautiful homes near the Summit Ave corridor and were also able to walk to dinner. Our host was friendly and helpful and not to mention and excellent chef! Kevin provided home cooked and fresh breakfasts each morning and some great conversation. We would definitely recommend this B&B to others and we would certainly book again in the future.
The Historic District Bed & Breakfast was a wonderful find for our short stay in St. Paul. Our room was comfortable and classy. Breakfast the next morning was phenomenal. Kevin, owner & chef, was very personable and took the time to make sure our stay was perfect. I look forward to returning and staying longer next time.
