Treasure Island Resort & Casino offers a budget-friendly vacation experience with a focus on entertainment and gaming. While it boasts a large casino floor, adult-only pools, and a waterpark, recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in service and cleanliness, alongside concerns about smoking policies and value for money.
i paid 120 for the night and it was worth it. the pool is free as long as you are staying at the hotel, i went on a monday and had the hot tub outside all to myself. the lazy river is really good too. what really sold me was the vending machine, it had vegan gyoza and it was much better then i expected for food from a vending machine. i will be coming back on the last two thursdays of the month to get the seafood buffet! service was mid tho. the workers at the pool were peak but front desk was not it, their machine for getting a card to the casino and pool by the front desk was down, but they continued to tell people to use it. i eventually talked to a worked in the casino and she told me a spot where it would work. it was very nice to have a adult only part for the pool. i would recommend this place, it’s very budget friendly for a good experience.
Stayed in the Buffalo Tower, very clean and updated. Security was at the elevator. Casino was clean and everything worked as they should! Bingo is an option. Casino has a smoking area, it is packed and very smokey but still clean. Pool area has adult only areas (swim up bar) and family areas for little ones too, most is indoor. Bonus, hot tub for adults only that is outdoors.
First time here....came for a two day concert, so I didn't get to experience all the amenities. Plan to come back some day to enjoy more of the area. Our suite was top notch. Check in and out was a breeze. No charge for parking, and if you have to park far away, they have shuttles that come through often. Didn't have time to try out more of the restaurants.....only had Currents a few times because they were open late. Overall, had a great time staying here and plan to go back.
This Was my 2nd time at Treasure Island resort and casino and, I really loved it. I really enjoyed myself I'm from South Carolina and we do not have casinos it is illegal there to gamble. I now live here in Minnesota and have lived here 2 years now this past May and I love it here. Being only my second time at the casino I think I did really good as far as money. I started with only $40.00 but, by the time I done I had won will over $300.00. And I took home over $200.00 with me. So I think it was a well spent night. I really loved it being able to play the slot machines.
I booked a golf stay & play package which turned out to be way too expensive. The staff didn’t seem to be familiar with the package at all so it was a struggle from the beginning. I think they were unfamiliar because few people are foolish enough to book this package. When we went to finalize our hotel check-in I was told there would be another $60 increase. I would recommend anyone else just negotiate a hotel room & go book a tee time on your own!
All staff were rude!!!! Bartenders, maintenance, everyone! Room found a bloody kleenex in the bed!!! Which means the sheets weren't changed! Disgusting. Had to call management late evening! The pool and lazy river looked green, like algae. No actual locker rooms to change into!!!! Very unsatisfied for the price!!!!! Will not stay again.
Great Size, but Smoking Policy, Low Comps, Bad Food, and Pool Fees Make It Hard to Recommend Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, MN has a large, impressive casino floor, but there are several significant downsides that really affect the overall experience. The casino recently converted a large section to smoking, creating two major smoking areas that now hold the majority of the games. This leaves limited non-smoking game options, making much of the casino floor unavailable if you prefer a smoke-free environment. On top of that, the comps and player rewards are noticeably lower than most other casinos in the area. The food is a hard pass at any restaurant in the casino—none of them are worth it. Additionally, the hotel does not include access to the pool unless you pay extra, which is frustrating for guests. For non-smokers or anyone looking for better value, it’s becoming hard to justify visiting TI over other local options. Due to the limited non-smoking gaming, weaker comps, poor food, and the pool fee, I’ll likely be traveling to another nearby casino instead of Treasure Island. The only plus is there are some amazing staff that make you feel welcome.
My big question is...... Why are you only supplying microwaves in the premium rooms? Most people expect to have a microwave in any basic hotel room. Kind of an to have if you are staying for a few days. That was a foolish decision! Other than that, I would have given five stars. The rooms are clean and very nice. They have comfortable beds. The rooms are spacious.
A fun, pleasant stay, overall. We stayed for a Saturday and Sunday night. The room was comfortable, but could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly. Housekeeping was very accommodating and prompt with my requests for extra pillows and a change of linen and comforter. Room service was unavailable and the restaurant options are limited. These are the reasons I didn't put 5 stars. The Lagoon was fun and well-staffed with lifeguards. Our food was good. The bowling alley is great, as well as the pizza they serve. Also, I didn't detect any cigarette smoke smell this time, which is a HUGE improvement! We will definitely be back!
recently stayed in the New Buffalo Tower at Treasure Island Casino, and I have to say—the room itself is fantastic. It’s spacious, sleek, and feels newly updated, with a clean, modern design that’s genuinely comfortable. The bathroom was a highlight: the rainfall shower head alone made the stay feel like a mini spa retreat. Everything from the tile work to the lighting gave off a high-end vibe. That said, there were a few disappointments. The air conditioning never reached the temperature I set, which was frustrating because I like my room ice-cold—let’s just say I prefer sleeping in conditions closer to a morgue. The AC just couldn’t deliver. The walls were also thinner than expected; at night, I could clearly hear kids yelling and running in nearby rooms, which made it hard to sleep. Finally, the mini-fridge acted in reverse—the colder I tried to make it, the warmer it got, ruining some snacks I brought along.Overall, the room itself is great, but management should address the AC, wall insulation, and refrigerator issue
