The Comfort Inn Saint Paul East receives mixed reviews, with strong praise for the friendly and helpful staff, particularly Asim, and generally clean rooms. However, concerns regarding breakfast quality, elevator maintenance, and property upkeep, including parking lot conditions, are prevalent. The hotel offers a convenient location and reasonable rates.
Stayed in 2 different rooms in 2 weeks. Pillow cases had stains, bathroom floor still had dirt on it in one. The complimentary breakfast was the worst I’ve ever had. Tv didn’t work in the first room. Only thing going for it is the wild boar is right by and has great food
Hotels are all the same. What makes the difference between a good one and a great one? Staff. Everyone here is friendly from the maids to management. Thank you Asim for taking the time to answer my questions. I will be staying here every time I travel to St. Paul
I had an outstanding experience thanks to Asim. From the moment he assisted me, it was clear that he truly cares about customers and takes pride in his work. He was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was handled correctly and efficiently. Asim took the time to listen, explained things clearly, and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. His positive attitude and attention to detail made a big difference, and it’s rare to encounter service at this level these days. Management should absolutely recognize Asim for his excellent customer service. He represents the company extremely well and is the kind of employee that keeps customers coming back. I would highly recommend that he be acknowledged, rewarded, and considered for advancement or additional responsibility. Employees like Asim are a true asset. Thank you for such a great experience.
The good: the room was spacious, the king bed is on the firmer side, which we prefer, and we got adequate rest. The front desk was kind and friendly when requesting extra linens. The property seems overall clean and maintained. I feel safe on the property and in the area where it's located. Traffic noise was barely noticeable. I also appreciate that the window opens to allow for fresh air. The questionable: the elevator doesn't have inspection stickers visible ... and it's evident. They are loud and incredibly sketchy. I won't go in it without my phone and even then I prefer the stairs because I'm just not keen on possibly getting trapped in an elevator. Breakfast was ... not worth my trip downstairs. The coffee has a note that says it is brewed strong and to add hot water (the heads up was helpful) but when you do this it barely tastes like coffee anymore. The eggs were overcooked and so, so dry - which I found incredibly sad since it's the one hotel breakfast food I do enjoy. The window I mentioned ... doesn't have a screen or any safety mechanisms to account for children or mentally unstable individuals.
Cannot fathom the gross negligence at this property. Considered staying here until I almost ripped the front bumper off my vehicle navigating through their parking lot. They have craters littered throughout their main drive lanes. Very unsafe even for vehicles, never mind a person walking through the lot. Couldn’t even bring myself to walk in this establishment after that experience. If they can’t take care of the outside I can only imagine the type of “special care” and cleanliness one would experience inside the building.
Stayed here while visiting the cities. The TV did not work. The front desk lady came to the room to see if she could help get it going. Worked for a little bit then went out again. The elevator needs some major repairs. The beds were super low to the ground and not comfortable. The sheets smelled of hard core bleach. Breakfast was ok even had pumpkin flavored waffles which was different. The location to the vikings stadium is a little out of the way. No pool just a hot tub which i find odd. The front desk staff was nice and welcoming. Our first room had a horrible stench so we switched without issues.
Clean, bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly. Breakfast had plenty of options. Great stay. Easily accessible off the freeway and close to dining and shopping options.
I stayed here the night of April 3-4, 2025. I arrived very late, but the gentlemen checking me in was very friendly. The room was a good size, and the beds were very comfortable. The room was clean as well. No pool, but they do have an indoor hot tub, which they call a spa. They had a decent breakfast spread in the morning with eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit and some pastries. I didn't go hungry. The price was very reasonable for the Twin Cities. Overall, I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.
The staff was friendly, the lobby had soft gentle music playing as you entered which was kind of nice. The (my) room was very clean and had a nice smell to it. I would definitely use this location again.
This is probably my favorite hotel in the Twin Cities. The rates are very reasonable, the fairly large rooms are always clean, and the staff is impeccable in their service. There are several restaurants and stores in the area as well. I have stayed here several times and my experience has been good everytime. A special thanks to Hee and Brittany (I hope I spelled your names right) for going the extra mile.
