The Sheraton St. Paul Woodbury Hotel receives generally positive feedback, particularly from Marriott elite members who appreciate the comfortable atmosphere and helpful staff. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent service, issues with amenities like WiFi and laundry machines, and concerns regarding pricing and loyalty program practices.
I’ve stayed here a bit over the last couple years as a titanium elite member. I am grateful for someone named Ian that works here. I fell ill on a business trip and he was Johnny on the spot. Very grateful for this property and this person.
I spend 3 days here. Beds are nice and cozy. In a quiet location and parking. I gave a 4 because no wifi unless you sign up. Breakfast is not included and on my third day, i had no cold water.
Was in a great location for where I was visiting while in that area. Prices in the restaurant were quite high but I guess that's the going rate around Minneapolis (so glad I don't live there or anywhere near there). I posted the pic of their walleye at the Hotel's restaurant, it was freaking delicious. Breakfast buffet was also very good, ate well for breakfast. Room was fine, nothing special, nothing to really complain about except the provided shampoo & conditioner lol. If you have long hair, don't use that, at least mine didn't like it. Plenty of towels, free bottle of water in the room, staff was nice, parking was fine etc... etc... Would (probably will, due to circumstances) stay again and would look forward to it.
Stayed here for one night in December. The rooms were made up just like any other hotel that I have stayed at. The water was hot in the showers which was very nice. The staff were polite and helpful. However, it got three stars because the price of anything here was outlandish, I felt like I was staying at a motel 6 but paying four season prices for water and food. The restaurant was quite over priced for what you get. The breakfast costed me 24$ I got French toast and a coffee. If you wanted water it cost 5 bucks for a bottle of water. Like I said staff and rooms great. Cost not so much. Also no WiFi unless you sign up to be a member.
It's a great hotel. If you're a Platinum or + member, know that the last few times I went the lounge was poorly stocked. That said, they have water available in the lobby, and were giving members with appropriate status cards for breakfast at the restaurant in the hotel, which is fantastic. (My visits have typically been on weekends.)
We've stayed here multiple times and just finished a 6-night stay. There's something comfortable about this place that we like. This trip, there were a couple of issues, but the manager fixed them promptly -- can't say enough good things about her. Whenever we're in the area, this is our standard.
The staff is very polite and the rooms are really well taken care, however the laundry and dryer machine does not work properly. While I was putting the coins in the dryer, as i was about to put the last coin and all of the sudden, the display reset to the initial value, after I had already inserted the rest. The same happened with the washing machine. I ended up losing around 5 dollars, which isn't much, but it was enough to make me lose confidence in the hotel's amenities. I adressed the issue to the customer services, and they replied really quickly -even tho it was a weekend- willingly to help and improve their service. All in all, a good stay.
My husband and I stayed here for a week. The check in was easy and the desk clerk was very friendly and professional. The lobby was nice and smelled amazing. The hotel is located in a very nice area and rhe parking lot was very clean and free of any loitering. The AC in our first room did not work. We dealt with it for 2 nights, as we did not want to move all of our stuff. Upon informing the front desk they gave us a new room, very close to our old room. The air worked beautifully in the new room. The rooms were very clean. I found thr bed comfortable but my husband did not think so. The side tables on each side had USB charging ports, which is a big plus. The room had a microwave and mini fridge, which is convenient for a longer stay. The laundry on site was very clean and accessible. There was dining on site, but we did not take advantage of it. I was disappointed that there was not a continental breakfast. They did have a breakfast buffet available for $18 per person. The entire staff went above and beyond. It was overall a very nice experience.
I will never stay here again. The staff were not helpful at all. I had a crappy attitude from the people at the front desk. For some reason, they didn’t have an extra blanket for my kid. He said most people bring blankets from home. What kind of statement is that?
So much for the Marriot core value of put people first, booked weeks ago, today found out I was bumped because of some privileged folks who couldnt get a room last minute, wont be a gold member much longer, bye bye marriot. Stay is only 3 days away also. Their loyalty program is worthless, pick a brand with better moral standards who follow their own core values. And just to add, loss of stays and points. Beware of their tiered shady management.
