This is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to write a review, but wow, this stay was such a disappointment. It’s crazy that we share almost exactly the same complaints from other reviews of how uncleanly, worn down, and cheap the room felt. Its surprising to me that management has read these reviews and still nothing has changed, and are still charging such high rates for such low quality. We booked a suite that was in the older portion of the building, which I wish was more apparent at the initial booking of how different the old is from the new. There was live music that went until 12am in the restaurant below that was crystal clear in the room. The bathtub was on a carpeted floor in the living room area. Soap in the hard water stained and dirty shower was almost empty. Such major details of comfort overlooked. Although, I will say the views were amazing of downtown and the river. Such great potential but so so poorly managed.

Hotel is nasty, dirty, and outdated. There are better places to stay in Stillwater that have been updated and cleaned in this century. Front desk lady is rude. She got so short with us and threw her pen down and swore when we asked her why we had to switch rooms during our stay. Heard people vacuuming at 11 pm, also walls are paper thin so I could hear everything in the rooms next to me. Random hair on the bed and in the shower when I checked in. Sink in the bathroom leaked. Place is incredibly gross, I didn’t want to touch anything, I felt the need to incinerate all my stuff when I got home. I was so excited to check out, that I counted down to when I could (and I only stayed 2 nights). I would’ve moved to another hotel if all the rooms weren’t booked. Not to mention it’s super expensive to stay at a place that looked like 50 different people from the 1800s tried to decorate and glue it back together. Not to mention the restaurant is terrible. A relative of mine at breakfast ordered toast and the bread tasted like fish. Gordon Ramsay /Hotel Hell needs to get here ASAP. If I could give 0 stars I would. PLEASE take my word for it as this is my first ever Google review. Stay elsewhere!!!!

When you walk into an establishment you should feel welcomed but here, not a chance. The front desk workers all were extremely rude when our group walked in. We got yelled at right away bc we were all laughing and having a great day (2pm) and the gal was trying to talk on the phone so the other worker said “be quiet, she is on the phone” I’m sorry but you don’t do that, they NEED help with customer service. My husband bought a chocolates platter with wine for a Birthday surprise and at check in the worker literally said in front of us that he bought that and he owed so much money for the chocolate Birthday platter and wine. Zero respect from worker or care when my husband brought that issue up. These people need some serious training.

This is a beautiful and poorly managed hotel. During my stay the front desk completely neglected to tell me that the water was getting turned off at 8 am the next morning. So I went to take a shower and had no water. I couldn't even brush my teeth. So I went down to the front desk to complain and the response was I'm so sorry. When I pressed that SOMETHING more than I'm so sorry should be done, the front desk person said I could pass on my email address to the manager, which I did. What I wasn't expecting was that the manager would never send me an email and instead my email address became a part of their marketing campaigns. I will definitely never stay there again even though I regularly visit Stillwater.

This is a lovely, quiet, and clean hotel on an amazing location! Note that there are a variety of rooms - some are newer, some older, some river facing, some with balconies, etc. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel — one on the roof (seasonal) and one on the ground floor. There is also a lot of interesting history in the hotel! The staff is friendly and helpful.

I never leave reviews, but I feel like I need to warn people to not waste their money on a room here. It's very expensive and the beds are very uncomfortable/hard as a rock. I noticed when we got in our room, nothing was properly stocked (hand soap, shampoo, conditioner). They were all half full or nearly empty. There was dust on the furniture and just a general uncleanliness. We had a hard time sleeping because you can hear every car drive by and the bedding is scratchy. When we booked our room over the phone, the man said it would be $185 for the night and then when it came time to pay.. it suddenly was $235 due to a parking fee and taxes.. not to mention for this high price, no complimentary breakfast. There's nothing really going for this Inn aside from it's aesthetically pleasing historical charm. That's what draws you in. But, it's all a facade.

Stayed here in April. The room was in disrepair, but the experience was generally fine. However, one month later, the hotel charged us again for the stay and for the breakfast. They reversed the charges AFTER we called. However, they explained that their accounting and auditing process led to the double charges. This makes NO sense. I don't want to have to monitor for extra charges well after the stay.

This is a great hotel with an excellent location. My only gripe is that the rooms in the historic area of the building are showing their age. But hey! That’s a part of the charm. Front desk staff were great and parking was available right put the front door.

First time guests. All staff was great. Charlies for drinks Saturday night and breakfast Sunday morning. Layer if you are there in winter as common areas are chilly i am sure due to age of hotel. Charming nooks and crannies but overall the rooms need updating. Icky stained carpet and weird layouts are not worth the $300 price tag nightly. Bar appeared to have overserved a guest Friday and charged me $1.50 surcharge for decaf coffee. Would not go back for a repeat performance for sure. Too bad as the location is stellar on the river. Food was average so i can’t imagine the special event food would be any better.
