The Courtyard by Marriott Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport offers a convenient location near the airport and MSP, but recent reviews reveal inconsistent service and facilities. Guests have experienced issues with room cleanliness, outdated amenities, shuttle reliability, and unhelpful staff, alongside some positive feedback regarding friendly staff and comfortable beds. Multiple guests have reported issues with late checkout policies and parking charges.
Super nice hotel. Beautiful clean room. Nice patio. Staff was very friendly and helpful ? I forgot my medicine in the fridge and they located it, called me back. They are holding it for my niece to pick it up.
Two out of the three nights I stayed I was disturbed by extremely loud guests in the room next door and the corridor at 2/3am. Groups of young men, extremely intimidating for a woman alone. Hotel aware and did little to prevent it happening. This big group should have been put on a floor together away from other guests instead of amongst other business travellers and airline crew. Rooms not made up every day, coffee facilities not replenished. Bar seating area by TVs filthy dirty. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in.
I'm a Lifetime Titanium Marriott Bonvoy member and chose this Courtyard specifically because I had work meetings the following afternoon. Marriott's published Bonvoy benefits state that Titanium members receive guaranteed 4:00 PM late checkout at standard Courtyard hotels, so I knew I could rely on that benefit. When I checked in, I requested only a 2:00 PM checkout. I was told the latest they could offer was 1:00 PM because of staffing and that late checkout was based on availability. After returning to my room, I verified Marriott's published policy and went back to the front desk with the information. I was again told that 1:00 PM was the latest possible. I was then told to call back at 11:00 PM and speak with the housekeeping lead. She ultimately approved a 2:00 PM checkout, which was all I had requested from the beginning, but stated that was the latest possible. This wasn't about trying to get special treatment. I selected this hotel specifically because Marriott advertises guaranteed 4:00 PM late checkout as a Titanium Elite benefit at standard Courtyard hotels. If the hotel cannot or will not honor that published benefit, maybe they should consider rebranding to something other than a Marriott property. Based on this experience, I will choose another property next time.
Was told the place was much better before new manager (who is rarely there!). We were never told there was a parking CHARGE. Ice maker was on other side of pool room and exercise rooms & BOTH key card readers would not allow access!
Small closet sized toilet and shower, uncomfortable bedding and pillows. As frequent travelers to this specific hotel which is near the inlaws. Day 2 and come to find a ticket(?) on my car. I guess now they are charging $10 for overnight parking EVEN THOUGH WE ARE STAYING THERE. absolutely unacceptable. Never and I mean never staying here again. Congrats.
Very very rude and lazy staff. Dirty and outdated rooms. The sheets and towels did not seem dirty. The carpet, blinds and furniture seemed/looked/smelled dirty. The front desk staff was very unpleasant and rude. The housekeeping staff was very pleasant and friendly. The staff at the food area was amazing. The breakfast was very good. Whoever hires for the kitchen should also hire for the front desk.
Great hotel for a great price! The employees were so nice and accommodating. The hotel is nice and beds are comfy. We did park and fly and the desk concierge got us Starbucks while we were waiting. (At 4 am) The driver to the airport is so nice and had lots of funny antidotes. Would definitely stay again!
The fire alarm was on all night staff wasn't very helpful my shampoo body wash and conditioner were all out the bathroom looked dirty i couldn't use the pool or gym they turned off the water so I couldn't brush my teeth or take a shower. Just a horrible experience
I frequently stay at properties around the area due to my job, I’m titanium and know enough to say this property constantly falls short. I prefer the Fairfield properties in Bloomington and Mendota. They were both a bit more expensive for the evening so I settled on this property. I’d been here before, and I’d had a very unpleasant experience with a manager than no longer works there. I’d decided to give it another go. The room is decent enough, spacious and clean with a balcony. There are no microwaves. The property doesn’t offer a complementary breakfast (which is common with Courtyard). My biggest complaint is still staff, which is most important at any establishment. It’s not that the check in was unpleasant, hence the TWO stars on service. My complaint is with the shuttle. Aside from my terrible interaction with the manager some time ago, the shuttle had left without me once before when I needed to go to the airport. The person that checked me in that time admitted to putting me down under the wrong time though I’d called down TWICE to make sure it was right! I gave grace to try this properly again, and the same thing happened! I come down 3-5 minutes before scheduled departure, and the shuttle has already left me. No apologies from staff though the time clearly read BEFORE the time it was supposed to leave! Every property I stay at normally checks the list, calls the room if you’re not down.. does SOMETHING to insure no one is left behind. This is unacceptable, especially when you only offer service on the hour. In addition, no one at check in tells you to be down earlier than departure time. (Even the airlines tell you how early boarding will end before departure) So unfortunately, despite other “okay” things about the property, the most important necessities fall short. The $16 Lyft cost makes the extra cheddar worth it to stay at other Bonvoy properties in the area.
I stayed here for a week. On day one I went to get in a workout and the gym stunk like mold so bad that I couldn't complete my workout. I told the front desk and they said they would address it. Their solution was an air ionizer. It was clearly an issue with the AC unit. By the end of my week there, the gym still had the same odor. Upon arrival, I also went to make use of the in room refrigerator. The freezer on it had at least an inch and a half thick build of if ice on it. Indicating that no one had really looked at it in weeks. I asked them to bring in a replacement the next morning. Maintanence apparently came in and looked at it and left it. When I came back for the day, I asked them again to bring up a different unit. They did. But I was the one to turn off the frozen unit and clean up the water as the giant ice block melted.
