The Holiday Inn St. Paul Downtown offers a generally positive experience, particularly for attendees of local events like concerts and sporting games. Guests frequently praise the friendly staff and convenient location, although some report issues with noise levels, outdated facilities, and parking costs. Concerns regarding service professionalism and room cleanliness have also been raised.
Rooms were fairly clean and room service left a cute little towel animal but these walls are PAPER. THIN. I could hear every single word being said from the people in other rooms and in the hallway. I felt like they were speaking inches away from my face in the dead of night while I was trying to sleep. Annoying. Also elevators were super slow and nobody could find the stairs (they only exit to outside, not the lobby). Employees were nice though.
This hotel was great! The location the the Grand Cassino Arena was literally across the street. The service was incredible. We had car trouble a d they hooked us up with a late checkout so we had someplace to stay until the car was fixed. Can't say enough about how great and helpful the staff was! I would recommend staying here!
During my stay at the Holiday Inn, I had an unpleasant experience with the receptionist, Gabby. When I asked for a receipt for my stay, which is a very standard request, she was rude and dismissive. She appeared more focused on being on her phone and talking to others than addressing my question or assisting me properly. The interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessary, especially for such a routine part of the check-out process. Customer service plays a big role in the overall hotel experience, and this interaction fell well below expectations. I hope management addresses this so future guests are treated with more professionalism and respect.
Room was clean but I've seen college dorms bigger than our room. They also charge over $20 to park so that sucks. There were homeless people sleeping outside. The restaurant was good but even with our 2 kids eating for free, the bill for the 4 of us was $100. I'll never come back for the reason that there's no prices on the drink menu. Drives me nuts.
Staff was friendly, room was spotless, pool and hot tub were small but clean, and the location was perfect for attending the Wild game. Tips: when you arrive, keep driving past the front doors and turn right just past the building. There's a small lot there where you park during check-in, and at check-in you'll pay for a pass for the parking ramp (about $23). And if you want to take the stairs to get to your room, you access those from outside the building...a little weird but much better than waiting for the elevator with everyone else after the game!
The staff here are super friendly! We have a fantastic view of the famous St. Paul’s Cathedral from our room. Overall, we’re really enjoying our stay!
We stayed here for a weekend of Twins, Top Golf and Vikings. Check in went well and was helped out by Steven. He took the time to give us a map of the closest train station and some of the local places to eat. There is secure parking available and I found this very convenient. I also spent some time at the restaurant/bar and was provided amazing service by our server. The food was amazing, my wife had a shrimp salad and they also accomodated her gluten allergy by making something From the menu in a bowl. Room itself had a good view and was very clean. The staff even made some towel animals for us. I would 100% stay here again, it was a good experience.
Pretty good place to sleep for the money. There were some kids running around, but that seems to be fairly standard. Air conditioning worked well. Staff was kind and attentive. Would have been nice to get breakfast, but not a biggie.
The hotel is in a decent and safe location, room was hygienic and dead silent, contained a bathtub, bed was quite comfortable. I have to mention that It could be the most helpful and kind front desk that I've ever seen. There are also gym and swimming pool available. Overall it was a great stay.
We are very happy! I had some questions before the trip and they answered my email swiftly and The information was what I needed and more! and then when we where checking out we forgot some posters from the concert that was near by. We went back 2 hours later to try to get them and the maintenance manager I believe was very swift to help track them down when they honestly probably didn't have to do that. Good stay and great/kind staff!
