The Hampton Inn & Suites Downtown St. Paul consistently receives positive feedback, particularly regarding its excellent location near the Xcel Energy Center and friendly staff. Guests appreciate the cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and convenient amenities, with many highlighting the exceptional valet service and helpful front desk personnel. While some minor concerns have been raised, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
I didn’t stay at this hotel but we were here for Hockey and a lot of our friends stayed here. I found out the same Valet company works for the Hampton and felt obligated to share my experience since the valets at the Intercontinental were so great. We drove from the intercontinental to the Hampton Friday afternoon. The Valets greeted me before I even had put my car into park. I was asked if I was checking in and mentioned I was here to chat with friends for 30 minutes. The valets, left me right up front & showed me where to go. I believe the gentleman was named Chace and he was fantastic. There was a black haired guy that was also super nice (manager I think). Hospitality is such a difficult industry in this age and these young gentlemen truly restored my faith in customer service.
Couldn't give it a 5 due to low water pressure and hairs in the shower. That being said, everything else was fantastic! Huge shout out to Michelle at the front desk who checked us in. Best customer service ive had in a long time. Stayed here a few times and never really had an issue. Great location, valet parking and all the amenities.
I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and have had wonderful experiences both times. It’s very clean, the rooms are in good shape, the bed and pillows are SO comfy AND they even have legitimate blackout curtains! The front desk staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast wake station is really good and I appreciate that the coffee is available all day. We also love the proximity to Cossetta and Grand Casino Arena. To add to our good experiences, last time we visited my son’s blanket (he’s had it since birth) fell out of our tote bag somewhere between the room and loading our car at the valet. I realized this several hours later and called the front desk. They found it in the lost and found and shipped it to me for free. It arrived the following day. We will absolutely be staying here again.
A well run hotel, the desk people were nice and the room service was good and came every other day. It is on a street with a bunch of restaurants to find dinner and is right next to the grand casino arena. The rooms had two queen size beds and a bathroom with a shower. And my favorite part is the breakfast, they had a waffle maker and all the toppings you could want, highly recommend it if you go to St. Paul.
We stayed for a weekend for Frost and Wild games. It was a great location with access to the grand Casino Arena. Plenty of food options nearby so we didnt need our car. Rooms were nice & clean and comfortable. We will be back.
I was here for work for four nights. I brought my family along as my wife has family in the area. I was greeted by a friendly face, he interacted with my son and made us feel welcome. The room was nice, clean, and I got four of the best nights of sleep I have ever gotten in a hotel. The free wifi worked great and provided enough internet access for my stay. The pool was fine and my son enjoyed it. They had a nice fitness center. Breakfast is provided and every day they had something different and a lot of variety. Overall this was a great stay and I have no hesitation when I say it was one of the best stays I have had at a hotel.
We spent 4 nights in room 533 - loved the view of the State Capitol and could see a little of the Cathedral. Cody at check in was super- in fact everyone was. the room was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast each day was great- there was fresh fruit = apples, bananas but also cut up fruit- melons, grapes, and blueberries, raspberries etc. great local restaurants right across the street- near the arena. loved our stay!
We stayed here for our son's half marathon because of the close proximity to the race finish line, but what will have us coming back was the incredible service of the valet team. Hotel is located on a busy street and they are right there to help you out of your car and get your car parked right away in a secure parking garage. James especially went above and beyond with helping with our bags, etc. Valet service worth the price without hesitation. Great staff!!!
I'm not sure why this hotel is a 2 star online? It definitely is a 4 star in my opinion. Valet service was excellent, front staff were helpful, pleasant and accommodating. Hot breakfast included in price (scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, yogurt etc). Room was very clean. Great location if going to an event at the Grand Casino Arena. Staff accommodated me with a late checkout so that I could stay a little longer then head to the airport to catch a flight home. I would definately recommend and I would stay here again.
The valet when we arrived were rude to us, they told us to keep the keys in cup holder so car doesn’t get stolen until they found time to move our car.. mind you we paid $36/day for this valet service. Then we discovered that there is a loud music/bass sound that ramps through your hotel room and vibrates the bed. I thought the room was clean and the breakfast was not bad but would not stay here again.
