Guests generally report that Sonder the Fitz is clean, spacious, and well-equipped for self-catering, but they consistently flag extreme noise from construction and thin walls as major drawbacks. Many specific functional issues, such as malfunctioning laundry, non-working AC, and sanitary failures, were reported.

Everyone whines like it’s $500 a night!!! Noisy downtown like every downtown hotel. I had no visual ID. Easy as hell to get your room and code. No need to check in all done online. Good value for $89. Clothes not drying not great (didn’t use washer)but room is nice and clean.

Nice room with kitchenettes and real dishes and a giant fridge. Located in central downtown walking distance from train station. Rooms are not soundproof - I could hear neighbors talking and watching TV. Don’t try using their free laundry machines - it took 6 hours of my night for 1 load and clothes were still not dry. The building manager was helpful in the end, and said laundry machines in the lower level work (upper floors are questionable - didn’t drain or dry).

I almost canceled my stay because of the reviews here. The front desk was so nice. Lobby has plenty of space to work and hang out before your room is ready. You can store your luggage also. The room was clean and had everything I could need. Rates 4 stars because there was a lot of noise, but I bring a white noise machine. The water pressure wasn’t the best but it’s not horrible. Definitely bring an eye mask if you need a pitch black room to sleep.

Another review mentioned strong smells. My room smelled like cigarettes. I called the customer service number to note it down. There was security at the front desk, but I did not feel much safer when checking it at night. Having security look at me while I punch in the code at the outer door. The room was tidy but there were stains on the sheets and the bed frame. No issues with ac or shower. I would not advertise this as a hotel. It felt like an airbnb.

Sonder the Fitz apartments suited our needs well. The rooms are very clean, staff are friendly. The location is decent and is within walking distance to a few great places. We were there during peak construction season so it was kind of dead around the area as a ton of streets were ripped up. Parking is either in the parkade across the street or the lot beside it (both pay for). I will say that the rooms/halls/building are not sound proof. I could hear the lady beside me hacking up a lung all morning, and the footsteps above me pretty clearly. All in all though it was a good stay.

This place was great to stay at and felt more like a studio apartment than hotel room. My room had a two eye stove top, a full size fridge, a microwave, and a full size coffee maker. The room had necessary equipment to cook your own meals and the bed was comfortable. My only issue is that it surrounded by road work which is why it was rated 3 stars for location. It was loud in the morning and difficult to navigate around by car. Once they finish working on the road, the location is actually 5 stars.

The only reason I gave two stars was the nice staff at this hotel. I stated for over a month here for a work trip. 1. The bed sheets were dirty and even after request for cleaning, they were still dirty. 2. Most of the washer and dryer machines were not operational. There were only two machines in underground level working well and they were always working. 3. The cleaning at this hotel is not free. They charge you $45 for cleaning. They did not refill the laundry detergent, the bath supplies even though I requested. 4. The AC was terrible. They can’t have both AC and heating in the building. The weather got cold and there was no heating options for a few days. Then the weather got hot and there was no AC for a few days. 5. The advantage of the location is being close to the Metro station and the state capitol. But there way a lot of construction around the place and made a lot of noises. Also, the place is not safe at all. 6. There is not any ice machine or any place in the hotel for drinking water except the vending machine that charge over $4 for a bottle of water. 7. The kitchen supplies were not enough at all for cooking. They were old and not perfectly functional. I had to buy a few more cookware. Also there is not any grocery store close to the hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel especially for long stay.

Nice hotel once you actually get to the room. Very nice room plenty of amenities (in the room). During my stay half of the roads were blocked off and when you arrive you realize the hotel doesn’t have parking so you have to pay 10$ a night for parking in a janky lot that might or might not keep your car safe. The elevators are pretty dirty but that’s not really a big deal to me at least. I loved the room itself. Nice and spacious with basically an entire kitchen. My view would be really nice if the roads weren’t torn apart and having construction done at 7 am. No water fountains anywhere except a little tap down in the lobby.

My partner and I were very disappointed with our experience at Sonder The Fitz Apartments. From the beginning, we encountered multiple issues that made our stay uncomfortable and frustrating. To start, the dryers were completely non-functional. We had to reset the dryer multiple times, only for our clothes to come out still damp. This was incredibly inconvenient, especially while traveling. Even worse was the air conditioning—or lack thereof. Our room was unbearably hot, and hot air was blowing from the vent. We tried to manage, especially during the first few days when it was raining, but it was still uncomfortable to sleep or relax in the space. Despite bringing this up to the front desk, nothing was done to address it. As a last resort, we kept the door open for most of our stay, which unfortunately exposed us to loud yelling and chaos coming from the parking lot outside. While I understand that Sonder can’t control everything outside the building, we wouldn’t have been in that situation if the A/C had been working properly. The shower was another headache—the door was crooked, and water would spill out during every use, flooding the bathroom and creating a safety hazard. This should’ve been addressed before any guests were allowed to check in. On top of everything, parking was extremely difficult, and it made no sense that we couldn’t park our rental car even though we were staying for a full week. This added unnecessary stress to our trip. Overall, we felt unsafe, uncomfortable, and ignored during our stay. I genuinely considered checking out early and finding another hotel. I cannot recommend Sonder The Fitz based on our experience, and I believe a refund or compensation is warranted for the inconvenience and poor service we received.

I was going to stay here with my fiance soon to be wife. We're getting married literally tomorrow. (4/12/25)(I am writing this while looking for another place to stay for the next nine days!)I walked in and I smell Marijuana smell in the elevators and on our floor. I see trash and a fan. I just canceled our stay and we were not given a refund. We just ate the cost. I knew that my fiance was going to throw a fit. The room was okay but the smell and trash was gonna send her to a new dimension, not to mention the place is surrounded by construction. They said they would investigate whether the place smelled like Marijuana. Lol First and Last time using Sonder and especially the fitz.
